It is a good rule in life never to apologize. The right sort of people do not want apologies, and the wrong sort take a mean advantage of them.

Fall 2004 Finito!!!

Yay, I've survived!!!! Finals, 4 NSF essay, and 3 grad school application. Take that!!! Trust me, 2 week time is aplenty enought to accompolish all this!

Nothing interesting is happening. Atlanta is decently cold, enough that I don't want to get out of bed every morning anyway.

Apparently one can build a crude motion detector by having a transmitter and receiver antenna. None of this laser crap that one has to go through to trigger the alarm. What it is is that objects in the environment all cause multipath fading. So when something is moving somewhere, you get a distinct movement on the fading profile. Also, you can vary the frequency to detect large or small object/movement. I think this is very cool esp since you can't see radio propagation and it would be easy to hide transmitter and receiver antennas.

Break is good, but 3 days into it, it's already kind of boring.

June is a nerd! June is a nerd! Actually, that sounds quite cool. I would expect that sort of system to have problems, though, with interference from nearby devices, unless it's very directional.
